Buy & Sell Alert - Rebalancing


Today I sold 100 shares of  NTES at $39.12 and purchased 250 more shares of USG at $18.75 in the model portfolio.

Rational on the rebalancing

The rebalancing goal is to reduce risk and invest more money into most favorable stocks for the model portfolio based on own assessment of risk/reward. Please check out Hot list for more risk/reward rating on each of the portfolio stocks.

USG investing rational was already spelled out in previous issue, it is rated as "extremely favorable" risk/reward ratio in my Hot list.  In terms of risk/reward, USG is more attractive than NTES.

NTES currently has highest PE in my model portfolio.  Compared to SOHU, NTES is less attractive because it has higher PE, more insider selling, no insider buying, and less transparent management even though NTES is considered more promising in the market due to its hot online-game business.  That is why I reduced NTES, but not SOHU although my investment record in NTES is better than that of SOHU. By the way, the past stock price performance is not part of my risk/reward assessment. I do not care that much of my entry price point in my rebalancing effort. More important is where the stock price will go in the long run in the future and how safe is my current stock positions in the model portfolio.
